WASHINGTON, D.C: White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre was mocked on Tuesday, August 16, for a now-deleted tweet that hinted that she had run for US Presidency.
"Investing in America means investing in ALL of America. When I ran for President, I made a promise that I would leave no part of the country behind," read Jean-Pierre’s since-deleted tweet, as reported by the NY Post.
Did Karine Jean-Pierre ever run for US President?
Karine Jean-Pierre has never run for the position of US President. The social media mistake left netizens puzzled, with some speculating whether Jean-Pierre accidentally used her own Twitter account instead of President Joe Biden's to share the tweet.
"Wrong account bro," stated one user, sharing a screenshot of the deleted tweet.
Meanwhile, Conservative commentator AK Kamara quipped, "The last 2 weeks have been big for the shattering of glass ceilings. First, we learned Obama was also our first LGTB President. Today, we learned KJP is our first Black Female LGBT President."
Simon Ateba, Today News Africa’s chief White House correspondent, mused, "Oh wow! They tweeted from the wrong account! @PressSec Karine Jean-Pierre has not run for President, at least to the best of my knowledge."
Author of ' Elephants Are Not Birds', Ashley St Clair, who thought a White House intern was to blame, wrote, "is karine jean-pierre writing joe biden’s tweets or are they using the same intern?" adding that the "intern def gettin fired," in a follow-up tweet.
Some placed the blame on President Joe Biden, suggesting that he should write his own tweets. "Would love to see Joe Biden write one post for himself," stated one, while another pleaded to Elon Musk, saying, "@elonmusk these accounts should be tagged as 'Not run by Joe Biden himself',"
