Matthew Perry revealed he requested the last line to the makers of 'Friends'
In his memoir 'Friends, Lovers, and the Big Terrible Thing', Matthew Perry wrote how he got to say the last line of the iconic sitcom, stating, "Before that final episode, I'd taken [co-creator/EP] Marta Kauffman to one side."
He continued, "'Nobody else will care about this except me,' I said. 'So, may I please have the last line?' That's why, as we all troop out of the apartment, and Rachel has suggested one last coffee, I got to bring the curtain down on Friends."
'The Last One', the final episode of the tenth and final season of the series, aired on May 6, 2004.
As the six friends, Chandler, Monica, Ross, Rachel, Joey, and Phoebe, were leaving the apartment, Rachel suggested going for coffee, to which everyone agreed, and Chandler (Matthew Perry) delivered his sarcastic line, "Where?"
Even though it might seem like just a word, ardent fans of 'Friends' remember it as a time when Matthew Perry had the support of his co-stars to get over his personal turmoil.
