In his tribute to the 'Fools Rush In' actor on Instagram, Schwimmer wrote, "Matty. Thank you for ten incredible years of laughter and creativity."
"I will never forget your impeccable comic timing and delivery. You could take a straight line of dialogue and bend it to your will, resulting in something so entirely original and unexpectedly funny it still astonishes," he continued.
"And you had heart. Which you were generous with, and shared with us, so we could create a family out of six strangers," he wrote.

Matthew Perry previously talked about 'Friends' show's reunion
Following the group's reunion since the sitcom's finale for HBO Max's 'Friends: The Reunion' special, Perry talked about his affection for his castmates.
"The best way that I can describe it is after the show was over, at a party or any kind of social gathering, if one of us bumped into each other, that was it," Perry said.
"That was the end of the night. You just sat with the person all night long and that was it," he added.
"You apologized to the people you were with, but they had to understand you had met somebody special to you and you were going to talk to that person for the rest of the night. And that’s the way it worked," he continued.
