LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Keke Palmer's estranged boyfriend and the father of her son, Darius Jackson, has denied allegations of abuse after the 'Hustlers' actress obtained a temporary restraining order against him.
TMZ reported sources close to Jackson claiming that the squabble that led to the restraining order stemmed from an argument over their infant son Leo.
The sources explained that on November 5, Jackson texted Palmer to inform her that he was planning to pick up Leo from her so that the father-son duo could enjoy a game of football.
However, upon his arrival, he did not find Leo over there. An altercation ensued and when it escalated, Palmer called her mother Sharon and put her on speaker.
The source further revealed to the news outlet that Sharon was screaming at Darius. At that time she also purportedly threatened to put a bullet in his head. The threat subsequently led to the physical scuffle as Jackson then tried to wriggle her phone from her.
The sources claimed that images of this tussle was submitted by Palmer during her filing of the restraining order, adding Jackson has vehemently denied abusing the actress.
Was Darius Jackson arrested following the scuffle?
TMZ reported that while police visited the property, no arrest was made. The sources mentioned that there was not any probable cause for Jackson's arrest. They also added that no report of the incident was even filed.
However, following Palmer's filing of the restraining order, she has been granted a temporary restraining order and also the sole custody of Leo. The next hearing is scheduled for December 5.
'You had to have done something to keke'
Even though Darius Jackson denied the allegations of abuse and declared innocence, netizens weren't convinced.
One of the social media users said, "He shouldn’t have been wrestling over HER property. I bet he won’t disclose what action lead to the threat either."
Someone else said, "What relevance does them arguing over custody have to do with whether he abused her or not? As if abusers don’t regularly weaponize their children as a way to manipulate and control? If you want to see your child and you can’t, that’s what courts are for."
"Such a set up video, typical abuser behavior. he’s going to attempt to gaslight us by only giving us one singular small clip of him pretending he’s not abusive. What led up to keke threatening you? and what do a lot of dads do best? Pretend to be good fathers on social media," commented another fan of Palmer.
"Why was he wrestling over HER phone in the first place...he ain't got a phone?" said another social media user.
Someone else chimed in, "He really thinks people are going to side with him the same way they did with the stupid Usher incident but he’s def wrong."
Another one rationalized, "There is no way Keke's mom would talk to this man like that if this man had never assaulted or did something to keke. You had to have done something to keke for her mom to say she will kill you."
Another one said, "And why is it okay for him to wrestle her over her phone? Something that is HER property?"
Another fan on the social media observed, "Her momma is the quietest celebrity mom & she ain’t mad for nothing. His voice sounds staged in this video, He provoked her."
"This just proves he did sum, I’m with KeKe’s mother," someone lent their support to Palmer.
