QUEEN CREEK, ARIZONA: In a heartwarming ceremony, the Queen Creek Town Council of Arizona came together to acknowledge the exceptional bravery of 7-year-old Cole Silva, who, in a swift and selfless act, rescued his 3-year-old sister from a potentially tragic incident in their backyard swimming pool.

Cole Silva's heroic actions did not go unnoticed as he was presented with a special award by the Queen Creek Police and Fire Departments during a Wednesday night, November 15 ceremony. The recognition highlighted the significance of Cole's rapid response which played a crucial role in potentially saving his sister's life back in August.

How Cole Silva saved his little sister's life

According to town officials, Cole Silva, at just the age of 7, witnessed his younger sister accidentally fall into the backyard pool. Without a moment's hesitation, the little boy jumped in to rescue his younger sister all while calling out for help.

A family friend, alerted by Cole Silva's urgent cries, rushed to the scene and joined the rescue effort by administering CPR on the 3-year-old girl. Thanks to Cole Silva's quick thinking and courage, the little girl was rescued from the waters and by the time paramedics arrived, the 3-year-old was reportedly breathing and responsive, as per Town of Queen Creek Arizona.

Queen Creek Council and community commend Cole Silva's courage

During the November 15 meeting, the Queen Creek Council, in collaboration with the police (QCPD) and fire (QCFMD) departments, took a moment to commend Cole Silva for his remarkable act of bravery.

Queen Creek Police Chief Randy Brice expressed delight in honoring the young hero, stating, “We are proud to honor an act of bravery by a young man in our community. Cole’s heroic actions on that day saved the life of his sister. We applaud Cole’s initiative, bravery, and selflessness."
