QUEENS, NEW YORK: Christopher King, a 31-year-old Long Island resident, has been arrested and charged with murder in the shooting death of 23-year-old Jevaughn Jeminson outside a Queens nightclub in April.
King was apprehended in Georgia on August 16 and later extradited to New York, where he faces the charges, as announced in an official statement by the Queens District Attorney Melinda Katz.

King and an accomplice, who is still on the run, allegedly shot at Jeminson 20 times around 2 am on April 8 outside the Pure Lounge nightclub in St Albans.
Both suspects had been inside the club with Jeminson just minutes before the deadly incident. Jeminson left the club around 2.05 am, and the alleged gunmen pursued him outside, according to prosecutors.
King and another suspect confronted Jeminson outside the nightclub. The second suspect exchanged words with Jeminson, then both suspects pulled out guns and shot at him, per the district attorney’s office.
Jeminson fled around the corner with the two shooters in pursuit, both firing multiple shots as he collapsed to the ground. King's accomplice approached Jeminson on the ground and continued shooting.
How did Jevaughn Jeminson die?
Jeminson's injuries were severe, including four gunshot wounds to the stomach, two to the head, one to the face, four to the back, one to the upper chest and one to the arm, according to the district attorney’s office.
He received immediate medical attention and was rushed to Jamaica Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.
Following the shooting, King and the other suspect made a hasty getaway in a BMW sedan, but later, police located the vehicle after executing a search warrant at King's residence, according to prosecutors.
Surveillance footage showed that initially, King was allowed entry into the club, but his armed companion was denied after security frisked them.
The other suspect later came back and underwent a second search before being allowed to enter, as stated by the district attorney’s office.

King, who was arraigned on Friday, September 1, is facing charges of murder, along with criminal possession of a weapon and reckless endangerment. If convicted, he could potentially be sentenced from 25 years to life in prison.
