LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: A lot of us know Caitlyn Jenner only for her appearance on 'Keeping Up With the Kardashians', but she first shot to prominence in the 1970s as an Olympic athlete. The reality star, 73, grew in popularity over the years and worked her way up to a reported net worth of $25 million, but her bank account appears to have dwindled of late.
Jenner landed a slew of deals after becoming an athletic icon, including the popular Wheaties cereal box. She remained in the spotlight after her retirement via media appearances, TV cameos, et cetera. However, she became an overnight sensation in 2007 alongside her ex-wife Kris Jenner and their children with the debut of 'KUWTK'.

The reality series had a successful run over 20 seasons until 2021, although it is unclear how much Jenner earned individually. A report claimed that in 2015 the family renewed a contract to earn a total of a staggering $80 million per season. And while Jenner hasn't appeared on Hulu's 'The Kardashians', she has continued to participate in other TV gigs including 'I'm a Celebrity ... Get Me Out of Here!', 'Big Brother', and 'The Masked Singer'.
Dwindling earnings
Jenner's tax records, which were made public when she decided to run for governor of California, revealed that her bank account has been taking a hit over the past couple of years. Her coffers peaked in 2016 when she minted $2.5 million -- the same year the second season of her reality show 'I Am Cait' debuted. The following year, she made slightly less at $1.9 million when she released her memoir. The amount further dwindled to $550,000 in 2018 and 2019.
Jenner possibly earned some coin after transitioning, since she scored several interviews and endorsement deals and participated in a number of inspirational talks. "For all intents and purposes, I am a woman," she told Diane Sawyer in 2015. "People look at me differently. They see this macho male, but this female side is part of me, it’s who I am. I was not genetically born that way."
Jenner's sports career
Born William Bruce Jenner, Caitlyn Jenner is described as a former Olympic athlete, television personality, and transgender rights advocate. She notably began her athletic career in college, where she excelled in track and field and landed a spot on the US Olympic team. In 1976, she won the gold medal in the decathlon at the Montreal Olympics, even setting a new world record in the process. After retiring from athletics, Jenner became a successful businessman and launched her own line of exercise equipment and other products.
Caitlyn was married to Kris Kardashian, who later became known as Kris Jenner, from 1991 to 2015. The former couple have two daughters together, Kendall Jenner and Kylie Jenner. Meanwhile, she has four other children from two previous marriages, including Brandon and Brody Jenner, according to OK! magazine.
