Alec Baldwin reveals he didn't 'want to be public person' after tragic 'Rust' shooting incident

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Alec Baldwin recently used his social media accounts to celebrate a significant accomplishment: the completion of filming for the Western thriller 'Rust'. The movie became the subject of debate after a fatal accident occurred on the set, killing cinematographer Halyna Hutchins. The 'Beetlejuice' actor was even accused of two counts of involuntary manslaughter.

The 65-year-old actor sent a celebratory message to his social media accounts to mark the completion of the last day of filming. The charges of involuntary manslaughter against Baldwin associated with the tragic event have subsequently been dropped. However, Baldwin once admitted that after the fatal accident, he felt the need to stay away from his Hollywood life, as reported by Mirror.

'I don't want to do this for a living any more'

After the horrific event, Baldwin broke down to his wife, Hilaria Baldwin, to whom he has been married since 2012, and thought back on his Hollywood career. "I don't want to do this for a living any more. I don't," He told her, "I don't want to be a public person." The 65-year-old actor revealed in a conversation with The Times that he is still having trouble processing the terrible incident.

Baldwin believes Halyna's death will be remembered for, rather than his extensive career or lifetime of achievements. The 'Beetlejuice' actor hailed his wife for "taking control of his life" and claimed she had helped him endure the last 18 months while he was facing criminal charges. Baldwin started filming again for Rust last month, and by the end of May, it was all done.

Halyna was killed when the actors were working on a mock gunfight that was recorded inside a church in Santa Fe, New Mexico. The scene has reportedly been cut from the film and won't be reshot said a source. They also confirmed to the Daily Mail that there are no plans to shoot any additional scenes with the old church serving as the backdrop. Baldwin's criminal charges were dropped, but now Halyna's family is suing him.

Alec Baldwin owes 'everything to this woman'

Following the announcement that he will no longer be charged in connection with the shooting death of Halyna, Baldwin praised his wife and attorney, as per Mirror. The 65-year-old actor posted a sweet photo of himself and Hilaria on Instagram as they both grinned at the camera. Baldwin was sure to include a thank-you note for Luke Nikas in the post. "I owe everything I have to this woman," the celebrity wrote before adding brackets, "and to you, Luke."

Hilaria, Baldwin's wife, has been by him throughout his trial as a steadfast pillar of support. He chose to praise her for her steadfast support and patience because she has frequently spoken out against his opponents online. Once, Hilaria addressed her worries about Baldwin having Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) a few days after the incident.

Hours before prosecutors accused her husband Baldwin of involuntary manslaughter, Hilaria again posted a message of appreciation and support for him. She and her kids were swarmed by media on January 2023, the day after it was revealed the 'Rust' actor would be charged. She addressed reporters and said, "I want you guys to realize we have seven kids and you being here to escort them to school and to be there when they come home is not good," as per Stylecaster.
